I am an artist and I live to create and love my soul-mate!
I am a JOAT
Jack-of-all-Trades
I have been running full steam into one project or study after another since I was born. Pretty sure from what my parents tell me of my child hood. I was not easy to raise. I really feel like I was born to experience things in this life. I only wish I had a few extra lifetimes to fit everything in. I still need to skydive, learn how to read Egyptian hieroglyphs, make sand sculptures and figure out why we can not seem to resist sticking out tongs on cold metal just to see if it sticks.
It may look like I start things and don't finish them. That's what a Joat will look like to the world. We seem to have an ADHD way of doing things, Oh look a bunny... that kind of thing....hay that bunny is almost as big as my moms dog, lol! Truth is we finish everything it just may be a few years or so between. We have burst of interest that are naturally powered with immense creativity and desire and we will burn through this until if fades to an ember. Then a side fire will take our attention. The embers never die and often catch fire again. This is not compatible for many of the things we need in society, such as school. I made A's and D's all at the same time and never really could predict what class would give me trouble. I loved the sciences and arts as they were naturally conducive to the creative flames I had. It was however, all governed by where the Joat took me at the time. My report cards were unforgiving and Odd! I was always defending myself against the two most common comments from my teachers,
" Cathy would do well if she would only apply herself." (said when the Joat passions were low on a subject) and,
" Cathy dose well in class and has great potential, if only she would learn to curb her social impulses."
other wise I talked a lot. LOL, when I was joating a subject I was filled with passion and curiosity and it often spilled over to who ever was lucky enough to sit next to me in class. I always wanted to know what they were thinking and doing, after all I had already mastered the subject.
That's a misconception you know, that Joats are Jack of all trades master of none. We do master things and often. The downside comes when we switch to a new passion. It's like we retain the experiences and highlights of what we learned but the master part is temporary. So if you dove right into Calculus and could do it in your sleep, got that A+ and pat on the back from your teacher, you are looked at as the one to go to for those who need help in Calculus, however if your onto, lets say macramé lol, then the best thing your going to help them with, is tell them where to go look it up! You remember it, can do it, but it's all a big highlight now. Kinda like those yellow and black summery book that contain a condensed essence of what you need to know (cliff notes).
So in conclusion, a Joat collects summery booklets of life.
